Nancy Manusos Milan Dobrojevic - artist & prof. Nancy Manusos

This extremely nice and talented young man was born March 11,1979 in Belgrade,
Serbia. He still lives there to this very day.

Milan was born to become a major artist and also to become recognized by the entire
world. You may be thinking I am saying this because we are friends but this is not the
case. All that I will cover in this review will be the truth.

Before I can move any further in this review I must tell you that I greatly admire and respect Milan. This all
came about from watching and knowing him over the past year.

He has stated that it is very important to learn by the examples of accomplished artists who have great
knowledge. Do not take this wrong because some of these examples have been professors. I was able to learn
the names of three such people that he gives much credit to in this area. Their names are Boza Babic, Mile
Ristic and Djordje Kozic. As we all know one learns much by exchanging ideas with fellow artists and mentors.
Milan states it very clearly that a formal education cannot teach you everything. He has a special name for
this extra education and that is “Real Art Initiation”.

This talented young man is not only a master fractal artist but he is much, much more. He has an extremely
long list of varied accomplishments. Milan Dobrojevic is truly a Renaissance man. I am not making this up. You
will be amazed at how multi - talented he is. My problem is where do I begin to list all that he can do. Milan is a
perfectionist so he must do everything on a level of extreme excellence or he will not stop until he reaches it.

It is now time to list what he can do and does do on a regular basis. Believe me I am not making any of this up.
I am astounded every time I think about this long and varied list. Where do I begin?
Milan is a master carpenter, sculptor, painter, full graphic designer and digital artist. He is a master cook,
actor, imitator, singer, composer and musician. Milan directs music videos, designs full graphic layouts for
music CDs and is one amazing promoter. Not only does he do all of these things but he has designed one of the
hugest website I have ever seen for himself. Milan is such a kind person that he even designs and sets up blogs
for other artists. My question is when does sleep?

Mister Dobrojevic not only displays his fractals and much, much more at his huge website but he also maintains
a gallery at deviantART.com. He also has other galleries at similar sites like this one.

Milan created one of the largest exhibitions ever dealing with his own art. You will now learn why I say he is
one of the greatest promoters around when and especially when it comes to promoting himself. The Digital Art Event was held at the New Moment Art Gallery in Belgrade on January 19th 2007. You must be thinking
one art opening is just like all the others anyone has ever attended. This is not the case when it comes to
Milan. He turned it into one huge festival. It was so amazing and if you go to “exhibition page” you can see
for yourself why I am astounded by this man's many talents.

The Event of the Year in Belgrade, Serbia was completely planned out by Mister Dobrojevic. The word event
does not even come close to what Milan put together this past January. This Fractal Artist designed his own
announcement and announced the order of what would take place throughout the evening of his opening.

When I read the announcement it seemed to me as being one huge Art Festival for just one artist. Are you
amazed? I sure was and still am.

In advance of the opening Milan had been in contact with a printing agency. Why? He wanted prints made of
his fractals that showed how wide his scope was and still is when it comes to creating fractals. This sounds
very simple but it was not due to the scale he wanted the prints to be. I was astounded once again because
the prints were the size of billboards. What? Yes, they were and they were placed on billboards throughout
Belgrade over a period of days before his huge opening.

It is now time for me to list in order each event that took place during the huge opening of the art exhibition. Mister Dobrojevic laid out a very well planned evening and you will see why I am saying this when you read
about each event in the order in which they occurred.

An Electro - Fusion band known as Prototip played two live songs at the beginning of the gala event. During
their performance animated fractals that Milan created were being shown for all to see. After this a music
video of Prototip's song "Orb Funk" was shown. It was an extremely involved video due to the fact it had basic
motives spaced with fractals and 3D animations. The video was aired soon after the opening of the exhibition.
The rest of the evening Prototip performed musical selections from their play list.

Next came a fashion show. Seriously, prior to the opening Milan had negotiated with fashion designer
Magdalena Klasnja to create dresses for models to wear during the grand opening. These were not just simple
dresses and the reason why is each one had a different design printed on it. What were the designs? They
were images of fractals from Milan's Soft Luminosity Series. Milica Milovanovic and Milena Maricic were the
lucky models who were chosen to wear them. They mingled in and around the crowd all evening displaying the
fractal covered dresses.

I must confess at this point in time and tell you that the Soft Luminosity Series is my all time favorite. There
are other fractals created by Milan that I enjoy immensely but they are not an entire series. It is because of
this series we met one another. We have grown to know one another as artists for well over a year now.
I deeply respect Milan both as an artist and as a person.

After the introduction of the fashions Mister Dobrojevic was introduced along with 25 fractal prints to the
huge crowd.

I did not tell you the media also attended this event of the year in Belgrade. Milan was interviewed by them.
You can see all of this when you visit his “latest news” page.

At the end of this most incredible opening there was a multi-media CD presentation. After this everyone was
given a fractal made by Milan.

When I was living and showing both my free standing and installation sculptures in Los Angeles I attended many
openings of famous artists. Not one of them can even come close to the one that Mister Dobrojevic organized.
He went the limit and did not let one detail get past him. I wish I could have attended it.

When I asked Milan who his favorite artist is I could not believe his answer. I thought for certain he would
give me a visual artist's name. He did not give me the name of one. You must remember this young man has a
large scope of interests. He did answer the question and the name he gave me did not shock me at all. Milan
loves music and the variety of genres is enormous. Here is his answer - John Coltrane. He picked a tremendous
musical genius.

I then asked why he has chosen Digital Art as a media. Milan is a fractal artist and a very good one. He said
the area of fractals has not been explored enough. I do know his goal and that is to break the boundary lines
in this area of digital art. He wants to expand the limits in this genre of art. His main intent is to show the
world a new and future view of fractal art. I believe he can completely change the direction of fractal art plus
explode the way fractals will be viewed and made in the future.

As a side note to this Review I must mention Milan is currently creating some surprises while still making
serious fractals. This man never stops coming up with different ways to show his fractals. He is creating many
single starting point designs for full size fractals. What is he doing with them? He is the process of launching a
few name brand apparels and more in the fashion industry. These pure fractal or fractal-based elements will be
on caps, tank tops, T-shirts, shoes and much, much more. He may even open up his own fashion agency in the
very near future.

Finally, Milan Dobrojevic loves each and every fractal he creates so he has given me the task of selecting
them. I hope I pick the ones he likes and also this Review I have written.
